COMIC: What is My Ministry all About?

You know, back when I first started Comics for Christ, it was so very exciting. The first reason is obviously God. I get to serve the Lord using my gifts and people seem to benefit from it? No better deal than that! But the second, less virtuous reason is pride. One bad thing about me, and I’m getting a whole lot better at it now, is that I really love showing off my “godliness”. It’s not that I love the Lord all for the wrong reasons, but you know, I am still loving myself too much and the attention and praise I get from being godly throws me off.

That really is a dangerous combo for a guy like me. Comics For Christ was steadily growing, and the encouragement, thanks, and praises keep coming in the DMs. Though I was certainly doing a good thing, Satan was behind the scenes weaving some nasty pride into my heart. Eventually, I got to the point where I felt so…authoritative. Like I was somehow a very influential person in the Christian circle. My topics keep on getting bolder and bolder. But really, I was not ready to be that kind of guy.

But then God humbled me through various interactions, people putting me in my place, and events in my life. I learned that I am but a young man who has a passion for the faith but not enough experience and wisdom. And I’ve been meditating on that for a long time now. My page changed accordingly. That’s why I made this comic today, to remind you guys and myself that Comics for Christ is a page simply depicting the thoughts and lessons of a young man in his Christian journey.

And honestly, I think that is the great appeal of Comics for Christ. Not too high up, but also not so low. It is (I hope) a relatable page to a Christian who lives an uneventful life day to day. It is the honest thoughts of an imperfect, ordinary Christian trying his best, but struggles as well. It seems like the ideas being discussed are attainable, realistic small steps towards sanctification and wisdom.

That’s my hope, anyway, and by God’s grace, I’ll do my best to run this page better. Things can change, and they will, I’m excited to see where God will take us. Thanks for being here!
