COMIC: Weep for the World

NOTE: This is an older comic

Original Commentary (from May 9, 2021):

"Ray Comfort, an evangelist I respect very much would say this to the people he’s witnessing: “I would weep for you, but my heart is too hard to do that”. He’s talking about him weeping for those who are going to Hell. Relatable.

Look at things from an outsider’s perspective, we’re a bunch of people who are truly convinced that there is a place of torment and judgment for those who reject Jesus. Yet the vast majority of us don’t seem like they feel a darn thing about it? I’m baffled at this as well. If we really held to the values we claim (loving others as ourselves, being compassionate, not rejoicing in sin), shouldn’t we be weeping for all the souls that are dying every second without knowing Christ?

Just look, even in your own community, people are broken. Kids are growing up without a proper family. Marriages are being torn to shreds. People are seeking destructive ways to satisfy the void in their hearts. Look around the world. There are those who literally die from starvation. Those who are imprisoned or even murdered by oppressive regimes. Or those who are dropping like flies because of the current health crisis. I hope you’re at least lifting up fervent prayers for these people, if not actively seeking ways to help and get the Gospel out to them. Because if you can’t even do that, your righteousness does not exceed that of a Pharisee.

There’s a stigma against Christians: We are unloving, unempathetic, and judgemental. And honestly, seeing what my actions say about my faith sometimes, I would give it to them. I’m pretty indifferent to someone who claims to be a disciple of a perfect God. Wake up. Open your eyes and see poor, lost people suffering in their sins, and shed some tears! I tell you, showing your love and care is far more effective than arguments when it comes to winning souls."
