Note: This is an old comic, but I have nothing more to add.
Original Commentary (From October 10th, 2020)
"Whenever I think that I’ve had enough with life and this world I think back on the concepts in this comic. It’s easy to see the rapture as an easy way out so that you can escape your responsibilities both as a Christian and as a person in general. I’m a lucky guy to be able to live in a free and prosperous country, yet I take that for granted every day. I yearn for the rapture at the slightest bit of discomfort and bad news.
The imminence of the Lord’s return shouldn’t be something that makes us lazy. I often get into the mindset of “this world is hopeless anyway, I might as well just forget about everything and wait for the Lord’s return”. First of all, the Bible tells us that we need to be ready for his return (Matt 24:42-44), sure you might know that he’s coming back, but will your behavior follow suit? when the Lord comes back, what will you be doing? The instructions he gave us are meant to be obeyed, so is he gonna see us living righteously and spreading the Gospel?
There’s a limited time left for the people of the earth. Before The Flood, people were given about 100 years to repent and learn the truth. Before the fire and brimstone came down on Sodom and Gomorrah, the Lord waited until there were no good men left in those cities. The Lord is patiently waiting now, though this world is becoming more like the days of Noah every second, the Lord is still giving us a chance. But how much longer? If we really believe this truth, wouldn’t we be doing His work with more diligence? Yet somehow I find myself hiding in my little Christian bubble waiting for God to come to pick me up.
Many people in this fallen world are lost in darkness, and as pilgrims passing through this world, let us show them the Kingdom of God, where they truly belong."
