Note: This is an old comic. I still think we need to have this mindset, but I have come to realize that it is much more difficult than I thought. I didn't live up to this comic at all. I'm trying my best, with the help of God.

Original commentary (from March 7th, 2021):

"Is this you? You grew up in a Christian household and have always had a Christian community. You were rewarded for obeying God, punished for sinning, it was easy to be a Christian because everyone seemed to agree with you. It didn’t last forever. All of a sudden, one day, you realize that you didn’t have to obey those rules anymore, some of your friends have left this community to follow the world, and as you grow, you realize that living a godly life outside of where you grew up in...is not easy.

What are you going to choose? Many “Christians” come out of their church community and realize that there are other things they can do that are not what their parents taught. Those things are way more fun, against the Bible maybe, but their Christian friends are not cool anymore anyway so why bother? They end up following the path of the world, seeking worldly pleasures. Be careful, that path is dangerous, many temptations that carry grave consequences.

Do you want to be like that? Maybe you do. There’s nothing anyone can do to stop you if your convictions are not the same as theirs. But if you still have a Biblical conscience, consider these verses.

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Matthew 10:37

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mark 8:36

We all seem to think that God is perfectly ok with us just living whatever life we want as long as we are saved, maybe read some Bible here and there, pray before meals, don’t do drugs, don’t watch porn, and then we’re set for a great godly life.

Well according to Jesus, if you wanted to meet His expectations, there really isn’t an easy way to do it. You’re either all in or not. There is no in-between. So the choice is ours, will we follow Him? Or waste our lives away? I’m by no means a disciple based on my walk, by no means can we magically make it happen. However, if we have desires, God has a miracle. Let’s do this together! "
