This is a Thanksgiving comic, originally written on October 10, 2021

“pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭

When we are asked to give thanks always, it doesn’t mean we ought to pretend that we are not struggling in our hardships. Hard things happen, there’s no doubt about that, and it’s always okay to struggle, to feel down. Let those things exist, but add in thanksgiving! “I’m struggling, but thank God for everything I still have.” It’s about a new perspective, it’s super easy to be blinded by current hardships and allow our visions to be so narrow, seeing only the obstacles ahead of us but not the blessings around us. Of course, do not forget the ultimate hope that is to come.

You know, Christians are by no means promised a “wonderful” life. We’re not promised freedom from hardship and sorrows, instead, the Christian life is filled with challenges. Look at our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world where they are persecuted and even killed for having faith in Jesus, that’s not what we might consider “wonderful”. But as mentioned earlier, we shouldn’t let this scary world blind us from the one that is to come. The hope that ALL Christians hold equally, no matter their current circumstances. Eternity with the Lord, free from sin, death, and suffering.

You might notice that this comic, though it’s about thanksgiving, is rather lonely. No other characters, just me. That’s because I always try to stay genuine about my comics. I don’t want to make a pretendy thanksgiving comic that makes me seem like a happy-go-lucky person all the time. No, I don’t feel that way, the drawings are how I feel, a bit lonely in this crazy world, intimidated by the future. But the thanksgivings are not false either, I truly am thankful for all those blessings, and I realize that I am extremely blessed by God. It keeps me going, and gives me the strength to serve Him faithfully. Though life is not at its highest point, we can still give thanks, no need to lie to ourselves about how we feel, but we must also be honest about how much the Lord has already given us!

Happy Thanksgiving! Love you all, thanks for being a part of my life
