Note: This is an old comic. I still love the thoughts expressed in this comic, but Danny back then did not have a proper comprehension of what this really meant. Perhaps he still doesn't, we'll have to see.
Original Commentary (From May 10th,2020):
"Finished reading “what if Jesus meant what he said” by Nate Bramsen, an amazing book by the way, really challenges the legitimacy of your walk with the Lord. The final chapter, speaks about a life with no regrets. And wow, it really really got me thinking. All these years I have understood what a full life is, a life following Jesus. In the end, only He matters, nothing else. But that last chapter really woke me up.
I suddenly saw things I did in my day-to-day life that will cause regret. Every little decision you make matters, does it please God, or does it not? The way you treat your family, what you spend your time on, all of these things, when played back before your eyes, will they bring you to regret? The Bible tells us to do ALL things for the glory of God, have we done that? When we meet our Savior face to face, can we say we lived a life with no regrets?
Even the smallest things matter, if you don’t have control over your mindset over the small things, what can you say about the bigger things? God doesn’t ask us to “sin as little as possible” that’s not the right terminology. God asks us to be Holy, to follow his example, to strive to be Christ-like. If we fail in the most insignificant aspects, what does that say about our relationship with him? What if Jesus meant what he said?
I know this is a very well-known idea, and it’s been spoken about many many times, but I pray that this reminder will help you, even if just a little, in your walk with the Lord. Let this be our constant mindset, to always deny ourselves, to always do God’s will, to take up our cross daily, and to follow him.
I hope when our time has come, we can say the same words as Paul “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
II Timothy 4:7-8"
