Note: This is an old comic. These are good thoughts, aren't they? I still fully endorse the sentiments expressed in this comic. Sadly, I went on to really struggle with lust and pornography after this comic. We will talk about this topic at length in the future.
Original Commentary (from May 24th, 2020):
"Mr. Conscience returns! What does our conscience tell us this time? Well, it’s something that the entirety of humanity struggles with, and nowadays, it’s not even considered something that is terribly wrong. I’m talking about lust.
You already know why lust is bad, but I just want to talk about the fact that it enslaves us, more than a lot of other sins.
Lust is a sin that may seem harmless, but it controls us, so much. It takes over your entire thought and becomes something that entangles you all the time. Just when you think you’ve Overcome it, it comes right back just as bad as before. Jesus tells us that even the thought of lust is a direct violation of the Ten Commandments (Matt 5:27-28). Knowing this fact, we should do something about our lustful nature.
We saw the verse in my story and in the comic, we Christians are no longer slaves of sin, and slaves of righteousness. But gosh is lust a tough thing to get rid of!
Jesus offers us a solution. Just cut off anything that causes you to lust. I’m gonna be completely blunt with you, if something in your life causes you to sin, it is better for you to just not have the option at all. That’s pretty black and white, but we always think of excuses to keep those things. Instead, we should fill our thoughts of righteous things, hence being a slave to righteousness! With the Holy Spirit guarding our minds, and us trying our best to resist the devil, I’m sure we can have victory over this terrible sin!
In isolation, I’m sure a lot of people are experiencing this temptation, my prayer is that those of us who are struggling will read this comic and be convicted. May God help us with defending our minds from lustful thoughts!"
