Note: This is from New Year 2020. I'm still pretty happy about the humor in this post.
Original Commentary (From January 1st, 2020):
"New Years, new me. That’s what we always say. Some of us get gym memberships, some of us strive to eat healthier, some of us strive to work or study harder. These are all good things! While physical and mental fitness is beneficial, spiritual fitness is even more important!
Make 2020 a year to live for God, use this new beginning to work towards being a more Godly person! Sure hardships will arise that can set you back, but unlike all the other goals we set, we have hope in this goal! And that hope is that we have the help of God in making us more like him!
So work hard this New Year, and like Paul said “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Hebrews 12: 1-3).
Leave behind all that weighs us down, and set our eyes on the joy of the Lord as we run this race of 2020! It is not our hard work that helps us run, but our Lord Jesus Christ!"
