Note: This is an old comic. This comic is supposed to be partly humorous, but the message behind it is very serious.
Original commentary (from October 18th, 2020)
"Sometimes it just seems ridiculous. Sometimes it just seems like He’s asking for too much. But despite the audacity, Jesus is still asking the same thing to those who desire to follow after him.
What does Jesus want us to bring on this journey of following him? Actually, a better way to phrase this is what is Jesus asking us to leave behind? Well...you already know the answer full well. Everything.
If Jesus was to take you away from this world right now, would you be looking back at the pleasures of your sins, your worldly possessions, and the world in general? Lot’s wife did that and look at what happened to her.
I get salty at what God asks of me. Lot’s wife got salty too, well, she got more than she bargained for. The only saltiness we should have is to be the salt of the world. (If you didn’t get the first part of the comic, the creepy statue thing is Lot’s wife, who got turned into a pillar of salt because she looked back at Sodom and Gomorrah when she ran away from that sinful city with her family)"
