Note: this is an old comic. I have SO many more things to say about finding your divine calling and spiritual gifts now. I will certainly make a post about that in the future.
Original Commentary (from April 5th, 2020):
"So many Christians I see nowadays are saying things like “God hasn’t given me a calling yet.” Lots of young believers are confused about what they want to do with their lives and that becomes their focus, their search for a purpose. Let me just say that as I have mentioned in the comic, the calling is loud and clear.
Jesus told us what we are supposed to be doing as believers. Love God, make disciples. So often do we let our “callings” become what defines us? I’m a lawyer, I’m a doctor, I’m an artist, I’m this I’m that. What are you really? Your identity lies in Christ! When your sole focus is on what you want to do, you lose focus on what really matters. It’s what GOD wants you to do!
We all know this, seek his kingdom first and all the things we need will be added unto us. But do we really understand what that means? Instead of looking for a calling, we should focus on fulfilling the calling we have already gotten! And whatever opportunities God gives you along the way is a gift! Put God before your passion! Surrender your life to him, stop trying to take control, and just let him direct your steps! When you do that, you do everything for the glory of God!
The disciples did just that, they didn’t have specific callings God gave them. Jesus simply told them to “follow him”, and that was simple enough. God gives us the same calling. Are we willing to abandon all we have to follow it?"
