COMIC: Anti-Sinful Lust Series

Note: this is an older series. Sadly, I continued to struggle with this sin for a long time after this, and I still do today. But the truth still stands!

Episode 1 commentary (from July 11, 2021):

"personally, dealing with this particular sin has been a tough journey. I was introduced to pornography in grade 6. Little me, who knew not what he was doing, just entertaining his own desires. Little did I know, that became a great addiction in my life. These secret sins that go on every single day, without any repentance from me… had real consequences, you can read the physical and psychological effects, and those are terrifying, but here I’m talking spiritually.

That addiction seriously damaged the way I saw… well, people of the opposite gender. Objectification was unavoidable because that’s all I saw, every single day. My relationship with God was not as close as it can be because of this hidden, unrepentant sin. After I finally realized this is a sin, I felt like a hypocrite whenever I tried to appear “spiritual” or “obedient” before God. If I didn’t start taking this seriously (which started way too late, might I add), my future relationship with my future spouse will face serious issues and so would my relationship with God because of this terrible ongoing sin. Praise the Lord that He rescued me.

I made this comic to wake you up. You are the person who is entertaining immoral sexual thoughts in your mind, perhaps looking at them on your screens. I needed that wake-up call, now I’m sharing it with y’all. God takes this sin very seriously, even if it’s just in the mind. All sinful actions begin as a thought. Seriously, God hates this sin! If you love Him and don’t want to break His heart, then repent and start working towards being free of this bondage! He died for you on a cross, sure that pays for your sins, but can you really continue on in your sins with a good conscience after that? Need I mention the misdeeds of the porn industry? Please Christians, one simply does not let sin run free in their minds as a blood-bought child of God. Follow His plans, obey His commands, and you will realize that it’s all for the better. But never forget this: it is not a sin to struggle with desires, but it is a sin to entertain those thoughts. HOWEVER, even if you do give in if you’re washed by the blood of Jesus, there is infinite grace for you."

Episode 2 commentary (from July 18, 2021):

"DISCLAIMER: if you have already asked Jesus to be your savior, there is GRACE for you even if you commit sins! You will not lose your salvation because you struggle with sin.

Paul Washer’s sermon on sexual immorality is very harsh. To me, that harshness was what I needed because I was so desensitized to pornography and lust. So whether you agree with him on everything or not, I think that sermon is worth a listen if you have a desire to overcome lust.

I said this in the comic and I’ll say it again, many of the things mentioned in this comic apply to people who actually commit acts of sexual immorality, and in most of those cases, they are unrepentant. So don’t get too worked up or depressed by the things I say in this comic. However, like I always like to say, acts of sin always start in the mind. So if you are entertaining sinful thoughts in your mind without trying to control them, you are one step closer to committing those sins than someone who is keeping their thoughts pure. Sin, when it’s full-grown, brings forth death! (James 1:15).

If you struggle with lust and pornography and whatnot, it’s best to fight this sin alongside trusted brothers or sisters in Christ. Have an accountability partner or join a support group if you can! We never fight these battles on our own, it’s impossible for most. Also, it’s best to just flee from temptations rather than actually fighting them. Instead of trying to actively repress those thoughts, fill your mind with other things that are better instead (Philippians 4:8) Don’t make any provisions for the flesh, get away from the internet when you can, download a content blocker, it’s not worth sinning over!

It’s a slow battle for sure. You can’t magically overcome it overnight, heck, I still falter here and there. What I tried to do today is to get you to take things seriously, everything after that is up to you. So ask God for help today.
